Aura Business gives your engineer a job card on their phone: what was done, readings taken, spares consumed, photographs of the machine and the customer's signature, all captured on site and synced to the office even if the basement has no signal.

The mobile job card is the record of a single visit, completed on the engineer's phone before they leave the site. It holds what the complaint was, what was actually done, any readings or checklist items the equipment requires, which spares came out of the van, photographs of the machine before and after, and the customer's signature confirming the work.
In Aura Business this is the Mobile Job Card module in the Field Service suite. The reason it matters commercially is simple: the spares recorded on it drop your stock, the labour and parts on it become a service invoice when the asset is out of cover, and the signature on it is what you produce when a customer disputes the visit months later.
Everything downstream of the visit depends on the job card being accurate and prompt. Paper is neither.
The details are reconstructed from memory once the engineer is back on the road.
Parts taken from the van are used and not recorded, so your stock figure drifts further from reality every week.
A customer claims the damage was caused during service and there is no photograph either way.
Proof of the visit exists on paper that may or may not reach the office.
An out-of-cover job cannot be billed until someone types up the sheet, which may be next week.
Hospital basements and shielded rooms kill the connection, so an app that needs the internet gets abandoned.
The engineer opens the assigned call with the asset, complaint and past service history.
Arrival recorded at the customer site with GPS check-in and time.
Diagnosis and work done entered, with the checklist where the job is a scheduled PM.
Meter, usage or calibration readings entered against the serial number.
Parts picked from the engineer's van stock and attached to the job.
Photo proof attached, customer signs on the phone, job marked done.
Offline work uploads when signal returns; the office sees the closed job and the stock movement.
Workflow: An engineer works in an imaging room with no signal, completes the card offline, and it uploads in the car park.
Result: No visit is lost to a dead zone.
Workflow: Two sensors fitted during the job are picked on the card and leave the engineer's van stock at close.
Result: The stock ledger and the vehicle agree at month end.
Workflow: An out-of-warranty repair closes with labour and spares on the card and becomes a GST service invoice without retyping.
Result: Billing stops waiting for paperwork.
Workflow: The customer says nobody came; the job card shows the check-in time, the photographs and their own signature.
Result: The conversation ends there.

The job card is completed offline on the device, including photographs and the signature, and syncs to the office when the phone reconnects. This is normal in hospital basements and shielded imaging rooms.
Yes. Spares picked on the job card come out of the engineer's van stock when the job is closed and appear in the stock movements ledger, so consumption and reordering are based on real usage.
Yes. Preventive maintenance visits carry the checklist for that equipment, and calibration entries and readings are recorded against the serial number. See preventive maintenance.
It is evidence of the visit and of the work accepted, captured with the time and the site. We do not offer legal advice on its evidentiary weight; confirm that with your own adviser if it matters to a contract.
Yes. A service report is generated from the completed card with the work done, spares and signature, and can be shared with the customer from the platform.
The field app is built on React Native and runs on Android and iOS, with GPS and offline mode. See the service app for how it is built.
