Aura Business records manufacturer warranty and the extended warranty you sell against every serial, shows on each service call whether warranty, AMC or CMC applies, logs parts replaced under warranty for the claim to your principal, and alerts you before cover ends so the AMC is sold in time.

Equipment warranty management software records the warranty on every unit you have installed, by serial number and with a start date that matches what the manufacturer will honour, and uses that record to decide on every service call whether the visit and the parts are free to the customer, chargeable, or covered by a contract. In Aura Business this is the Warranty Tracking module, sitting on the installed-base register next to AMC and CMC contracts.
Warranty is the cover a dealer most often gives away twice: once to the hospital, when a visit outside warranty is not charged because nobody checked, and once to itself, when a part replaced under warranty is never claimed back from the principal. The module exists to stop both.
The invoice date is known. The installation date, the extended cover the customer bought, and the parts already replaced under claim are not.
The hospital insists the year runs from installation; the principal insists it runs from shipment; your engineer is on site with neither date.
The customer paid for two extra years and the certificate is in a file, so the call is billed and the argument follows.
The same ventilator may be under principal warranty for parts and your AMC for labour, and nobody can say who covers what on this call.
The engineer fits a board from your stock, the customer pays nothing, and the principal is never asked to replace it.
Warranty ends quietly; the first you hear is a breakdown call on an uncovered machine, and the AMC is now sold under pressure.
Warranty term and start basis recorded on the serial at installation or acceptance.
Extended warranty sold by you is added to the same asset with its own dates.
A service call shows warranty, AMC and CMC status side by side before dispatch.
The job card marks the visit and each spare as warranty, contract or chargeable.
Parts replaced under warranty are logged with serials for the claim to your principal.
Expiring warranties surface for the sales team as an AMC or extended-warranty opportunity.
Workflow: A monitor is under principal warranty for parts, your AMC for labour, and a hospital-wide CMC for consumables; the ticket shows all three and the job card allocates each line accordingly.
Result: The customer is billed for nothing they already paid for, and you give away nothing you should charge.
Workflow: The failed board's serial, the replacement serial and the job card are logged; the claim to the principal is raised with that evidence and the credit tracked in payables.
Result: Your stock is replenished at the principal's cost, not yours.
Workflow: The customer bought two extra years; the asset shows the extended term and the call is closed as covered.
Result: No dispute and no digging through files.
Workflow: Sixty analysers at a lab chain leave warranty in the next quarter; the list goes to the rep with contacts and the renewal engine tracks each quote.
Result: The AMC is sold before the first uncovered breakdown.

Warranty is the manufacturer's or your own promise for a fixed term after sale, usually covering defects. An AMC is a paid annual contract, typically for scheduled visits and labour. A CMC is comprehensive and includes spares. The ticket shows which applies so the job card allocates each line correctly. See AMC vs CMC.
Yes. Each asset's warranty can start from installation, customer acceptance or invoice date, whichever your principal honours, and the term can differ by brand and product line.
Parts replaced under warranty are recorded on the job card with the failed and replacement serials, tied to the asset and to the GRN the part came from. That record is the evidence for your claim to the principal; the claim itself is raised with the principal in their process, and the credit received is tracked in payables.
Extended warranty sold by you is recorded on the asset with its own dates and terms, invoiced through GST billing, and treated as cover on service calls in the same way as a contract. See service contract management software.
The installed-base register produces lists of serials whose warranty ends in a chosen window, grouped by customer with contacts. These appear on the desk and the owner dashboard, and the renewal engine tracks the AMC or extended-warranty quote for each.
Yes. Assets you maintain but did not supply can be created in the register with whatever warranty information the customer provides, so the coverage check works on third-party equipment too.
