Aura Business treats every godown, branch and engineer van as its own stock location, records every movement in a ledger, moves goods between locations on documented transfers, and supports physical verification against the book figure.

Plain inventory tells you how many of an item you own. Warehouse management tells you where each one is, how it got there and who moved it. That distinction becomes urgent the moment you have a main godown, a branch, and engineers carrying parts in their vehicles, because the total on hand is then spread across locations that can each run out independently.
Aura Business handles this in the Inventory and Warehouse suite. Multi-Warehouse gives each location its own stock, Stock Movements and Ledger records every receipt, issue, transfer and adjustment with a reason and a user, and transfers move goods between locations as documented events rather than as an edited number.
A single stock figure across several locations is worse than no figure, because people trust it and then act on it.
The system says twelve are available; four are at the branch, six are in vans and only two are where the order is being picked.
Engineers carry parts worth a serious amount and none of it appears anywhere until it is used or lost.
Goods move between branches on a verbal request and neither side's records change.
Somebody corrects a quantity to match the shelf and there is no record of what was corrected or why.
Counting is done on paper, differences are argued about, and the book figure is overwritten rather than explained.
A location is empty while the company-wide figure looks healthy, so nothing is reordered until an order fails.
Main godown, branches, service store and each engineer's van set up as stock locations.
Goods receipt against a purchase order stocks the item into a named location.
Serial or batch recorded against the item, with barcode or QR scan where used.
Movement between locations raised as a transfer, despatched and acknowledged on receipt.
Stock leaves on a delivery challan for a sale, or onto a job card for a service visit.
Physical count entered per location, differences recorded as reasoned adjustments.
Every one of those events remains queryable per item, per location, per user.
Workflow: The sales order shows availability per location, so the picker knows the units are at the branch and raises a transfer rather than promising a delivery date.
Result: No order confirmed against stock that is elsewhere.
Workflow: Parts issued to an engineer sit in their van location until a job card consumes them or a transfer returns them.
Result: Every part is somewhere, on the record.
Workflow: Goods sent between branches leave one location on despatch and only enter the other on acknowledgement, with both entries in the ledger.
Result: In-transit stock is visible instead of disputed.
Workflow: Counts are entered per location and differences are recorded as adjustments with reasons rather than silently overwritten.
Result: You learn where the shrinkage happens.
Capital units, spares and consumables across godowns.
High-volume stock with batch and expiry per location.
A central warehouse feeding regional branches.
A spares store plus stock in every engineer's vehicle.
The same problem with different goods.

The multi-warehouse module is not limited to a fixed number. Godowns, branch stores, the service spares store and each engineer's van can all be modelled as locations, and stock is held and reported against each.
Yes. Parts issued to an engineer move into their location and stay there until a job card consumes them or they are transferred back, so the shelf figure and the road figure are never mixed.
Yes. Serial and unit-level stock means a specific machine is known to be in a specific location, which also feeds the installed-base register once it is sold. See installed base.
Counts are entered per location and compared with the book figure. Differences are posted as adjustments with a reason and a user against them, so the ledger explains the correction rather than hiding it.
Yes, which is the point of them. A branch can be below its reorder level while the company total looks comfortable, and the alert fires for that location. See purchase orders and GRN.
On a delivery challan, which reduces the despatching location and can then be converted to a tax invoice. See delivery challan software.
