Aura Business generates the e-invoice for a tax invoice you raise in the normal way, prints the IRN and QR code on the PDF, and keeps the e-invoice, the e-way bill and the accounting export in one place instead of three portals.

E-invoicing does not mean sending an invoice by email. It means that the invoice you raise is reported to the government's invoice registration system, which returns an Invoice Reference Number, known as the IRN, and a QR code. Those are then printed on the invoice you give the customer. The invoice is still your invoice; it now carries a registration that anyone can verify.
Whether your business has to do this depends on rules that apply from a turnover threshold and that have changed more than once. We do not publish the figure, because the only useful answer is the current one for your business. Confirm with your accountant whether e-invoicing applies to you and from when. What Aura Business provides is the E-Invoice module in the Quotation, Orders and GST Billing suite, so that when it does apply, it is part of raising an invoice rather than a second job in another window.
Most distributors who struggle with e-invoicing are not confused about the requirement. They are re-keying the same invoice into a portal and hoping the two copies match.
Once in your billing system and again into a portal, with every chance of a difference between them.
The registration is obtained but the invoice given to the customer does not carry the IRN or QR code.
A registration fails on a formatting or master-data issue and the despatch waits while somebody investigates.
A registered invoice is deleted in the billing system, leaving the two records disagreeing.
The same consignment is entered again for the e-way bill with different details.
The accountant reconciles registered invoices against your books by hand every month.
Your GSTIN, customer GSTINs and HSN codes are correct in the catalogue and customer master.
A tax invoice is created from the sales order, with gapless numbering as usual.
The invoice is submitted for registration and the IRN and QR code come back.
The IRN and QR code appear on the invoice PDF the customer receives.
Where the goods are moving, the e-way bill is raised from the same record.
A withdrawn invoice is cancelled within the rules rather than deleted, and a credit note is used afterwards.
Registered invoices feed GSTR-1 prep and the Tally or accounting export.
Workflow: A hospital sale is invoiced from the sales order, registered, and printed with the IRN and QR already on it.
Result: One document, one entry, nothing re-keyed.
Workflow: A registration fails because a customer GSTIN is wrong; the invoice is flagged and the master is corrected.
Result: The problem is fixed at the desk, not at the check post.
Workflow: A registered invoice that should not have been raised is cancelled properly, and a credit note is issued where cancellation is no longer available.
Result: The two records agree at month end.
Workflow: Registered invoices, credit notes and challans feed the GSTR-1 data and the accounting export together.
Result: Your accountant files from your data.

The Invoice Reference Number is the identifier returned when an invoice is registered with the government's invoice registration system. It comes back with a QR code, and both are printed on the invoice you give the customer.
It applies from a turnover threshold that has changed over time. We do not publish the figure because only the current rule for your turnover matters. Confirm with your accountant whether you are covered and from which date.
No. It is the same tax invoice, registered. You raise it in the normal way from the order, and the registration adds the IRN and QR code to it. Numbering, GST calculation and the PDF are unchanged.
The invoice is flagged with the reason, which is usually a master-data issue such as a GSTIN or an HSN code. It is corrected and resubmitted, and the despatch is held rather than going out with an unregistered document.
Cancellation is possible within the window the system allows; after that a credit note is the correct route. The platform keeps the invoice in the series either way. Ask your accountant which applies in your case.
Yes, from the same record, so the consignment details are not entered twice. See e-way bill software and GST billing.
Tell us how you work today. We will show you what the platform would look like for you, and give you a clear scope and timeline.
